Da Lat’s chilly weather often makes you crave something hot and tasty — so I decided to try Tiem Ga Tuk Tuk. And wow, it turned out to be a memorable meal (for both good and not-so-good reasons 😂). I visited on 09/13/2025, when Da Lat was quieter with fewer tourists, but the restaurant was still fairly busy.
Location, Parking & Facade
A big plus right away: spacious parking — super convenient if you’re driving a car or going with a large group. However, the facade is a bit confusing: there are 2–3 different signboards with slightly different names, which can easily confuse first-time visitors.
Ambience & Live Music
The restaurant itself is roomy, with neatly arranged tables suitable for groups or families. There’s live music, but unfortunately this was a big minus for me: the singer was off-key, and the sound system was too loud and sharp — not the cozy, relaxing vibe I hoped for.
Service — Needs Improvement
Staff felt unfriendly and not very attentive, with no welcoming greeting. Another frustrating point: customers had to get their own dipping sauce — walk quite far, queue up, and waste time. Personally, this was a big drawback that impacted the dining experience.
Menu & Dish Ratings
As expected, the chicken is the star of this place.
- Thai-style Grilled Chicken — excellent: golden crispy skin, tender juicy meat, well-marinated. Definitely a must-try for chicken lovers.
- Sturgeon Hotpot — a disappointment: bland broth, not flavorful. Honestly, I don’t recommend ordering hotpot here.
- Other dishes (Pad Thai, Som Tum, mango sticky rice): average, not very impressive.
Pros
- Grilled chicken is delicious and well-prepared.
- Spacious parking and comfortable seating.
- Reasonable prices for chicken dishes.
Cons
- Unfriendly, inattentive staff.
- Self-service for dipping sauces — inconvenient.
- Poor live music performance, loud sound system.
- No scenic view or photo spots.
- Some dishes (like hotpot) not worth the money.
Price
Prices range around 60,000 – 200,000 VND per dish. For the main chicken dishes, that’s reasonable; but if you order hotpot and get a bland one, it feels like wasted money.
Quick Conclusion (Read Before You Go)
If you’re a chicken lover — especially for Thai-style grilled chicken — then Tiem Ga Tuk Tuk Da Lat is worth a visit. But if you’re looking for a restaurant with stunning views, friendly service, or tasty hotpot, this may not be your best choice.
Tip: come for the chicken, skip the hotpot; parking is safe if you’re driving; and avoid peak hours with live music if you prefer a quieter meal.
